Being a mom is a fulltime job. No matter if you stay home, work from home, or work full time or part time, that is in addition to your job as a mom. But we also know that while being a mom is an amazing (and hard) job, it doesn’t define you. You had talents and interests before you had kids and you can most definitely continue those and gain others after becoming a mom.

Today, we are highlighting members of our team who inspire us with what they do in addition to being a mom.

I’m an independent distributor for SeneGence! We have amazing anti-aging skincare and long-lasting cosmetics. You’ve maybe heard of LipSense, but we also have tinted moisturizer that will improve your skin, mascara that will grow your lashes, eyeshadow that stays put, moisturizing lip balm, and a Lifting and Firming Neck Cream that will amaze you! I love to meet with customers one on one and in small groups to help select products that work best for them. I am also working on becoming a SeneGence Certified Makeup Artist.

I chose to become a distributor three years ago because I was wowed by the lip color that doesn’t budge but I stayed because of the confidence our products give women including myself! When you look better, you feel better. We have products that really live up to their claims.

I started Life Well Lived because of my passion to take the stress out of nutrition for busy moms and show that eating healthy can be easy, simple, and delicious. I offer 4-Week Meal Plans that take the stress out of meal time and make the food part a no-brainer. I also offer 1:1 Nutrition Coaching to help create healthy habits that will last (no diets over here) and work towards your specific goals whether that’s overcoming cravings, conquering bad eating habits, or losing weight.

My passion is to show that eating clean and healthy is not only simple but also really delicious. I’m a busy mom with 2 girls and just welcomed a sweet boy at the end of May so I totally understand the struggle to get healthy meals on the table that everyone loves. I believe nutrition is powerful and is so important to living a life full of energy and well-being. And I want to see every mom feel full of energy, confidence, and well-being as they raise their tribe.

I specialize in taking care of new families after the birth of their baby as a Postpartum Doula. By providing in-home support, new moms can get caught up on sleep, receive breast or bottle feeding support, and nourish their recovering bodies with meals and snacks. I also teach classes like B.O.O.B. Camp for expecting parents and private childbirth classes.

I really struggled with the first weeks at home with a new baby. I thought that because I had all of the “things” baby needed, I was prepared. I didn’t realize that I had no idea how to care for a newborn, feed a baby, or all that my body would be doing to heal. I have been a doula in Des Moines for nine years and have loved working with hundreds of families as part of their pregnancies, births, and postpartum times. Helping parents find confidence in their new normal (and snuggling babies) makes this the best career on Earth.

I’m a professional postpartum doula and birth story writer. As a postpartum doula, I provide physical, emotional, and informational support for new moms and their families in the weeks and months after welcoming a new baby. It’s my mission to make the transition to parenthood easier. I can also help you document, celebrate, and process your unique birth experience through my birth story writing service.

When my first baby was born I remember feeling SO tired, SO sore, and SO emotional. I knew it was all normal, but it was a hard adjustment. And despite having a supportive husband and grandparents visiting to help, I still felt like no one was focused on taking care of me, so I could rest, adjust, and recover. I’ve felt really strongly about the importance of helping and supporting new moms and their families ever since, and that’s why I decided to become a postpartum doula.
