Feel the rhythm of the drums at the Civic Center on Friday, April 1 at 6:30 p.m. with San Jose Taiko as part of Des Moines Performing Arts’ Wellmark Family Series.
Returning to Des Moines for their third time, this group brings taiko, the Japanese word for drum, to the stage for a high-energy show that will have the audience on the edge of their seats. San Jose Taiko, coming all the way from California, bring their art form to the stage as they honor their culture and heritage through their fun musical style and choreography.
The show will feature compositions that are written or arranged by members of the group. This provides a unique opportunity for the audience to learn about the theatrical extravaganzas of movement and music as they experience them. This family-friendly show provides an educational experience in a way that is engaging and fun for everyone!
You won’t want to miss this incredible performance! This one-hour show will have the entire family feeling the beat of the drums in their bodies from start to finish.
San Jose Taiko will be at the Des Moines Civic Center on Friday, April 1 at 6:30 p.m. Ticket prices as low as $12 are still available.
