School’s out. The sun is up. It’s officially summer!

For most moms, that means full days of popsicles, parks, and play here in Des Moines.

That’s why I’ve compiled a list of my top summer must-haves for the mom on-the-go! As you check off your summer bucket list, these items will help make memory-making a little more seamless.

Summer Must-Haves for On the Go Moms

summer must-haveSafety ID Wristband

Summer fun can also mean larger crowds, making it easier for a child to get separated. These ID wristbands allow you to list all of your contact information on a reusable, waterproof bracelet for your child to securely wear.

Getting your kiddos to eat what’s on their plate is already a big enough feat! With a portable table high chair, you’ll never have to worry again about where your child will sit for mealtime.

On-the-Go Essentials Basket

With the endless list of parks and splash pads to visit in Des Moines, you’ll never want to be without your summer essentials basket in the back of your car. I include items like chalk, bubbles, sand toys, swimsuits, and a blanket for impromptu picnics. I pack towels and a full change of clothes for each family member as well because we all know things can get messy! The last group of items I like to carry are a first aid kit, bug spray, sunscreen, and a portable charger.

Things to do in the Car

Whether it’s a short commute to Target or a long road trip, my children quickly become bored in the back seat.

The solution: A basket of toys and activities that are special for car rides. I like to include mess-free coloring books, reusable sticker books, race cars, and other “high ticket” activities that they can look forward to on car rides.

The Bogg Bag

The Bogg Bag is a mama favorite. It’s big, durable, and stylish. Plus, it is WASHABLE so you can rinse off any sand or sticky messes that your kids left behind.

Mesh Bags

I am a total bag lady and not afraid to admit it! These mesh bags come in a trio of bright colors and are versatile enough for collecting shells at the beach or organizing your summer items. Bonus: They are washable and provide breathability to eliminate odors.

Portable Beach Tent

Whether you’re at a baseball game or a day at the beach, a portable tent will provide a cool escape the whole family will appreciate.

Portable Fan

Again, summer is hot! Trust me when I say this fan is a must. It comes in multiple colors and can be adhered everywhere from your stroller to your beach chair for endless hours of cool air.

Potty Heroes

This section is a two-parter because we could all use some extra help with potty time!

The Graco travel toilet seat is just the right size for little ones while also being lightweight and compact enough to fit in a diaper bag.

These disposable potty covers are another must-have because frankly, public restrooms are gross! The fun prints are kid-approved and will keep little hands away from all those bathroom germs.

Insulated Cooler Bag

Don’t forget the snacks! My kids are ALWAYS hungry, especially when they are running around. This insulated cooler bag is large enough to pack lunches, drinks, and snacks for the entire family! Plus, how cute are the prints?!

Baby Carrier

There is nothing worse than a child who won’t sit in the stroller or insists on being held! The Ergobaby Omni 360 carrier is a personal favorite because it’s not only comfortable but can support the weight of children up to 45 pounds.

What are your summer must-haves?
