With more than 50% of current NBA players first making their appearance in the NBA G League, the Minnesota Timberwolves franchise is focused on developing next-level talent in Des Moines. “One mostly undiscussed aspect for the franchise, though, is how the new president of basketball operations Tim Connelly, and the front office he leads will utilize the Iowa Wolves, its G League affiliate in Des Moines since 2017.
“We hope it provides an avenue and an environment for both players and staff to work on their craft and ultimately help the Timberwolves,” Connelly said. “It’s a great opportunity to give players bigger roles and allow them to continue to better their game”

Don’t miss the Iowa Wolves opening weekend Saturday, November 5 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, November 6 at 3 p.m. in Wells Fargo Arena. They are welcoming former Iowa stand-out Luka Garza and a crop of young, hungry Wolves to town.
Opening night is Premiere Night sponsored by Kwik Star and up to $2000 in gift cards will be given away to fans during the night as well as FREE shirts to the first 1000 fans in the door.
Sunday, November 6 is Marvel Super Hero Day. It will include character appearances from Captain America and Black Panther and 3000 FREE special edition comic books. The players will be wearing one-of-a-kind themed jerseys.
