new des moines2021 is in full swing and with it comes new businesses to the Des Moines metro. Many new places to grab a bite to eat or drink have popped up along with new shops and activities to check out. 

New Places in Des Moines

Kinship Brewing – Waukee

Located off the Raccoon River Valley Trail in Waukee, this brand new brewery offers craft beers and food from local food trucks. It’s kid-friendly with bright murals and a vast taproom. There is even a dog park and once the weather warms up a dog-friendly patio.

Love Blooms Mural

Checking out the plethora of murals around town is a great winter activity. World-class art from the comfort of your car! New to the scene is the Love Blooms, on the side of the RoCA building on Court Avenue. The mural by local artist Jenna Brownlee, is a vibrant piece celebrating love and diversity.

Franka Pizzeria

You can never have too much pizza, right? Don’t miss Franka Pizzeria, Neapolitan style pizza with small bites and colorful salads to boot. With brunch on the weekends and easy online ordering, it’s easy to try out this new East Village eatery.
