Sounds easy and almost too simple, right?
But here’s a little secret those in the diet industry don’t want you to know about: The things that actually work and will make a big impact on your health are the things that tend to be “easy and simple.”
Yet we don’t do them. We over-complicate things and never end up reaching our goals.
It’s a simple but powerful habit.
And now is the perfect time to start practicing this habit as we head into holiday parties and all the extra goodies that will be lurking around. Instead of eating mindlessly choose to eat slowly and mindfully so you aren’t overstuffed or wondering how you ate three cookies instead of one!

- You’re going to eat less without feeling deprived: It takes your body 20 minutes for the satiety signals to kick in. When you eat slowly you’ll have a better sense when you’ve had enough.
- You’ll have less digestive issues: Have regular bloating and digestive issues? When you eat too quickly your body has a hard time processing it and that can lead to bloating, cramping, and other digestive issues.
- You’ll learn hunger cues: Many of us eat when we aren’t hungry and keep eating when we are full. When you slow down and eat mindfully you are able to learn these hunger cues.
