We’re honored to share this post from Ingrid Williams with Re/Maxremax-ingrid-williams-ad-150x150-paint

Many of our readers have worked directly with Ingrid when buying/selling a home and we are honored to have such a community-minded professional partner with DMMB! We love working wit local moms/business owners that are passionate about our Community.

My Passion & Commitment to the Community

Buying and selling houses involves a lot. There are open houses, home showings, paperwork, in short it’s a job! Like any other profession there are dozens, if not hundreds, of reasons I chose to enter the world of Real Estate. Perhaps the most important reason to me, however, was the ability that Real Estate gives me to get to know an individual, a family, and a community. The longer I work in this field the more I get to know about this great city and the people who live in it, and the more I find my heart drawn to giving back to the community I love.

A vital part of loving your career and loving your home is being willing to lay down roots. To dig in deep and allow yourself to become part of the fabric of the community around you. I’ve found as I seek to give back to the community it gives back to me, and together we are making the Des Moines Metro one of the most desirable places to live in the Nation!

Giving back to the community may seem daunting, but in reality, the task of loving others around you is as simple as finding what you are passionate about and deciding to pursue it. Something that ignites my passion is YoungLives.

About YoungLives

YoungLives is a 100% community funded ministry that provides love, care, instruction and so much more for teen moms throughout the country. The Des Moines chapter kicked off in October which provides an incredible opportunity for those passionate about teens and babies to get involved from the outset!

At only 5 months old, YoungLives of Greater Des Moines is already serving between 9-11 teen moms and their babies in our community.  They focus on building mentor relationships, cultivating genuine  friendships among moms, and providing life skills and a sense of community for these young women. YoungLives offers free transportation to monthly Club Nights, Life Skills classes and a community supported Kids’ Closet.

If you’re interested in following your passion in this area, join me for YoungLives of Greater Des Moines 1st Annual Mommy and Me 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, June 28th at 9am. Registration ranges from $10 for the Kid’s Dash to $75 for families of 4+. You can also run/walk as an individual for a donation of only $35.

The funds raised at the 5K will be used to send moms and babies to YoungLife’s national camp. While at camp moms and babies will enjoy a week of fun, adventure, friendship, and worship! Babies will receive their own volunteer sitter during parts of the day at camp so moms can be a regular teen for a few hours and get to do fun things like swim, hike, receive spa pampering, and connect on a deeper level with other moms and mentors.
