What’s on my “Thankful for” List

thankfulThis year has been tough for all of us in one way or another. On some of my hardest days, I try to focus on the things I am thankful for and the things that bring me joy. Here is what I’ve been especially thankful for lately.

Health

Health tops my list currently. Given we are still very much in a pandemic, I am extremely grateful my immediate family’s health has not been impacted. Millions of other people can not say the same, and I don’t take this lightly.

Thanksgiving Meals

Thanksgiving food is a love language of mine. Turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, greens, cornbread. The thought of it is making me hungry right now! It’s the ultimate comfort food. It makes my heart warm and fuzzy, and I love it all. I’m thankful I have the means to have an amazing Thanksgiving meal with the ones closest to me.

Christmas Shopping

Another obsession of mine is Christmas shopping for other people. Gifts really are a love language of mine and buying gifts to others makes me happy. Especially when it can be done online from the comfort of my home. Pre-pandemic I was an online gal. Large crowds, malls, and shops during the holidays are not my thing, so I’m thankful I can continue to shop from my couch in my slippers and comfy pants.

Understanding Friends

I have a few very close friends who not only am I extremely thankful for in general, I’m also especially thankful for how understanding they are. We haven’t had the chance to be around each other much at all this year, yet I don’t feel like we’ve “lost touch” in any way. Whether it’s coffee left at my doorstep because some days being a mom is hard, or a FaceTime call to share exciting news, we remain close through it all. I am beyond thankful for them during this tough year.

Comfortable Clothes

My favorite obsession and something I’m beyond thankful I can wear every day as a stay at home mom is sweatpants and sweatshirts. Pre-pandemic that was my favorite obsession. It has now been amplified. Some of my current favorites are these and these. Oh and these.

Plants

During this pandemic, plants have become something I’ve become to love. I’ve gone from two live plants in my home to almost twenty. I’m thankful for local shops such as Art Terrarium and Petals and Moss which have helped supply my latest hobby that makes me happy.
