1. Experience the NCAA Tournament 

The March Madness NCAA basketball tournament is coming to Des Moines! Catch one of the first-round or second-round games at Wells Fargo Arena on March 16 and 18. 

2. Check out Hoops & Hops 

Head to Cowles Commons March 16-18 for the ultimate NCAA tournament watch party! Watch the games from heated tents, try local brews in the Iowa Craft Beer tent, check out the food trucks, and shoot hoops. The event is free! 

3. Go to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Put on your green attire and head downtown for the annual St. Patricks Day Parade. It starts at noon at 15th Street and Mulberry and heads to Grand Avenue.

4. See a Show

Satisfy your theater craving and catch the musical 1776 at the Civic Center or Kinky Boots at the Des Moines Playhouse. 

5. Experience Art

Head to the Des Moines Art Center on Saturday, March 18 for Entirely Kids Day—Art Then. Now. Forever. Families are invited to come and explore past and present art through hands-on creative activities.
