Family activities, adult-only festivities, how will you celebrate New Year’s Eve this year? There’s lots of fun to be had around Des Moines. And of course, you could do both day and night to make the most of saying hello to 2023!

New Year’s Eve in Des Moines

Countdown to Noon at Warrior Lanes | Waukee
11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Get your lane now for their annual New Year’s Eve party. You’ll get 2 hours of glow bowling and shoes for up to 5 guests, a large single-topping pizza, a pitcher of soda, party favors, and a special countdown at Noon. Mom-approved music and alcohol-free!

NYE Kids Movie Night & Pool Party | Hotel Renovo, Urbandale
6 p.m.

Dive into the New Year with Kids Movie Night & Pool Party. Two movies will be played at 7 p.m. & 9 p.m. and open swim until 12:30 a.m.
Champagne and other drinks will be available at the lobby bar. The package also includes complimentary flatbreads, goodie bags, and a day-after continental breakfast.

New Year’s Eve Pops: Frank & The Great Ladies of Song | Des Moines Civic Center
8 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Broadway brass meets old-school class in a fresh take on the music of Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and more, performed by award-winning vocalists Capathia Jenkins and Tony DeSare.

Noon Year’s Eve Party | Central Library
11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 

Enjoy a craft, enjoy snacks, music, games, and a countdown to 12 pm!

Kid’s Noon Years Eve Party | Pathway Church, Johnston
10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Bring the kids to celebrate and count down the new year! Come at 10:30 a.m. to enjoy carnival games, play laser tag, make fun crafts, eat yummy snacks and join the dance party as we bring in the new year (12 hours early)!

New Year’s Eve with The Nadas, The Rewind Hotel, West Des Moines
8 PM – 12:30 AM

Ring in the New Year with The Nadas at The Rewind Hotel! Room packages include two tickets to the NYE party. Tickets include access to the exclusive NYE Party in the event center, Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse hors d’oeuvres, three drink tickets per person, Champagne toast at midnight, and Sunday brunch by Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse.

Noon Year’s Eve | Pump It Up, Urbandale
12 p.m. – 2 p.m.

Noon Year’s Eve includes jumping, sliding, racing, and more. There will be a glow-in-the-dark balloon drop with noisemakers, hats, and, a big countdown. Special events registration is strongly suggested. Everyone will need socks and a waiver to play. You must be 34″ tall to play on the inflatables. $15 if preregistered $20 at the door. Adults are FREE.

Kid’s New Year’s Eve Party | Big Grove Brewery 
4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

All-you-can-eat puppy chow, cotton candy, popcorn, and a ball drop at 6 p.m. The event is free but seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

New Year’s Eve Palooza | Johnston Library
11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Drop in anytime for a fun New Year’s Eve celebration. Follow a scavenger hunt throughout the library and earn prizes as you go. Create a party hat, earn 2022 glasses, and finish the day off with a fun photo at the photo booth! Open to kids of all ages and they’re grown-ups.

Family Glow Skate | Skateland 
5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Welcome2023 (a few hours early) with a countdown and a bounce ball drop. Enjoy fun prizes and of course all the fun skating games.

New Year’s Eve Noon | Des Moines Children’s Museum
10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
