The Reception Room: New Mom’s Event Sponsor Highlight & 5 Giveaways


the reception room resize 300x133Those of you that were at our Moms Night Out event in April likely remember the stunning party decor provided by The Reception Room. We are honored to be working with them again as they are donating linens for our New Moms Event on Saturday, October 5th at Valley Community Center.

The Reception Room specializes in all things party rental! From affordable linen rental, reception design and set up, there’s not much Michelle Warren and her team can’t do! They provide delivery, set up, decorating, and tear down services, along with creative consulting.

Located just 2 blocks north of I-80 on Merle Hay Road (5335 Merle Hay Road, Ste 3), their store is convenient to meet for consultations, view the showroom or pick up rentals.

My Experience:

The first time I worked with Michelle was for my daughter’s 3rd birthday party last February. After sharing a few visions for the princess party, Michelle had several different ideas ready to show me. She listened to what I wanted/needed and provided creative suggestions for making it happen. When I went to pick up the rentals, the linens and sashes were pressed and hung perfectly so all I had to do was toss them on tables and tie the chair sashes!

The decorations Michelle and Randi did for our Mom’s Night Out in April were stunning! We could not have been happier with their creativity, professionalism and customer service. They used our rustic theme at Jasper Winery to create the perfect classic and festive ambiance for our amazing evening out!

I’ve since worked with Michelle on a baby shower and again, my expectations were surpassed. Michelle is remarkable to work with, flexible, patient with changes and so accommodating in every way.

Whether you’re planning a huge event like a wedding or graduation, or a smaller scale baby shower, bridal party or work/church luncheon, The Reception Room should be first on your list. We are all busy mommies, and trust me, it is easier to give the task to Michelle in lieu of spending hours on Pinterest and running all around town searching for items!

About The Owner:

My name is Michelle Warren, and I have a passion for helping others. The Reception Room was created after my own wedding experience a few years ago.  Thinking that I would be able to plan and decorate the entire event by myself, I ordered my linens and decorations from various online vendors. Unfortunately, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. After spending too many hours ironing and working the weekend of my own wedding, I knew I had discovered a need for something new in the Des Moines area.

Soon after the honeymoon was over, the The Reception Room was created. The Reception Room has two simple goals that drive everything we do: Give our customers affordable & personable decorating options, and relieve our customers’ stress and workload as they prepare for the important events in their lives.

Every Saturday starting this weekend (9/14) from 9:00am – Noon, The Reception Room holds a consignment sale of all-things-receptions, birthdays & events.  Brides and moms bring in their items after their weddings, birthday parties, graduations, etc., and The Reception Room sells them on consignment.
