We are so thankful to Merle Hay Mall for partnering with DMMB over the last month and offering us and the community some super fun play dates! We kicked off the holiday season on November 16th with an amazing family event, welcoming Santa to town with milk and cookies and enjoying a private photo session! It was so much fun that we had play date #2 on December 11th and visited with Santa while enjoying some special craft time, milk and cookies, and another special VIP photo session with Santa.
For those who were unable to make it to either of these events, there is plenty of time left to experience all that Merle Hay Mall has to offer your family this Christmas and to spend some time with the most jolly and sweet Santa around! For Santa’s Hours click here. One upcoming event that is near and dear to my heart is their “Santa Cares” event for children with special needs.
Santa Cares Event: December 22nd, 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
For those families who have a child with special needs, you realize that the normal activities other children often enjoy this holiday season can just be frightening and completely overwhelming for a special needs child. I am so thankful that local businesses like Merle Hay Mall take this into consideration and are offering an extra special event to provide an atmosphere that is sensory pleasing and extremely accommodating to our special kiddos! Some of the accommodations include having the event outside of normal business hours for reduced crowds and sounds, turning off music and fountains, and most importantly, having a special Santa that is in tune with the needs of these special kiddos!
Activities Include: Snacks, coloring pages, reindeer antlers, special needs children will receive a stuffed toy from Santa and siblings will receive an activity book with candy cane.

Reindeer Event: December 22nd, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
In addition to the Santa Cares event, you can have the chance to see the REAL LIFE “RUDOLPH” and welcome him back to Merle Hay Mall along with Mrs. Clause and all the elves near Santa’s Workshop!
Make the memory last and get a picture with Rudolph and his friends near Younkers Court!!
