Meet Elizabeth Sullivan

“When you know, you know” is a true statement in my life. I became engaged, married, and a stepmom in a matter of nine months. The love story I share with my husband shows the true meaning of love unfailing.

My crazy clan lives in Ames though most of us are Hawkeyes at heart. The Sully 6 as we loving refer to ourselves includes Elizabeth Rain (2007), Sophia (2011), Will (2017), and Evie Grace (2019) and my husband, Mike. Because of this, you can find me on the basketball court coaching, cheering as a soccer mom, dancing with my kiddos in the kitchen, or teaching early in the morning with my students in China. No matter the place, I will always have a bottle of Body Armour and Nature Valley granola bar in my diaper bag.

I plan on sharing more about the journey of pregnancy and recovery as I went through two difficult pregnancies and very different c-section recoveries. Also the happys of having a blended family home and learning what unconditional love looks like. Sharing the crappies of unexpected c-sections and NICU stays. The sappys of holding two precious biological children God blessed our family with.

My passions include encouraging other moms through the postpartum phases of motherhood and therapy. I hope to shed some light on the topic of being a stepmom. I also look forward to writing about co-parenting and what it’s like to simultaneously be a stepmom and mom.

Please reach out to me with any questions or stories of your own! I love to engage with other moms. By sharing stories and listening to other moms’ happys, crappys, and sappys; we better ourselves. Growth comes from having a group of moms that challenge us and empower us to be a better version of ourselves each day. You can write me at [email protected]
