It’s Spring Fashion Week here at DMMB! We’re kicking things off today with toddler girls’ fashion found at Merle Hay Mall.
Armed with a $100 gift card, I recently went to Merle Hay Mall to find the best deals on kids’ fashion. I came home with eight things, and here’s how I styled it for my 2-year-old daughter, Rooney!
Outfit #1
From Head to Toe
- Flutter-sleeve T-shirt from Old Navy: $10
- Camo jeans from Old Navy: $15
- Pink mary jane shoes from The Children’s Place: $9.95
Outfit total with tax: $37.04
This outfit started with the pants. I love my camo pants (worn here), and I also love to match Rooney whenever possible, so I fell in love when I saw these. They are so cute! To balance the busy/masculine print, I knew I needed to find something pink. These mary jane shoes from The Children’s Place (like Crocs only way cheaper and cuter) are SO perfect for the summer. Rooney has to wear closed-toe shoes to daycare, but she also gets hot and sweaty when she’s outside on the playground, so these are really the perfect summer shoe for kids. (Old Navy also sells similar shoes that are great for girls and boys.) Then, I fell in love with this basic (but special) flutter-sleeve T-shirt, which balances the outfit.
Outfit #2
From Head to Toe
- Hair bows (set of 3) from Claire’s: $7.50
- Jean jacket from Old Navy: $22.94
- Heart T-shirt from Younker’s: $8.40
- Leopard shorts from The Children’s Place: $10
- Jelly sandals from Old Navy: $10.94
Total: $63.37
This outfit has a little more going on than the first outfit, but I swear kids can pull off anything! Leopard is basically a neutral, jelly sandals are a nostalgic throwback to my childhood, and jean jackets are timeless and great for cool spring mornings. I think some people are afraid to mix prints (mint stripes and leopard dots), but it totally works!
Side note: She likes the lay-down pose I guess? And, I bribed her with eight M&Ms to wear the hair bow, so obviously I deserve a parenting award.
Overall total: $100.41
(Note on prices: I didn’t use any coupons, but some stores were running their own promotions.)
Now comes the really fun part – mixing and matching! I put together a few more outfit options below, but the possibilities could go on and on!
