That’s right: Dance class is an essential for back-to-school. There is something for everyone at Grace Ballet and Gymnastics Studio! We do so much more than Ballet – we also offer Tap, Modern Theatre Jazz, Gymnastics, and Stretching and Strengthening. All of those are not only fun but also essential for our children.
Children will learn so much more than dance or gymnastics skills from Grace Ballet & Gymnastics Studio.
Physical Development
Learning dance and gymnastics helps with brain development through cross lateral movements, muscle memory, hand-eye coordination, core strength, patterns, sequences, rhythm, counting, coordination, musicality, and as a bonus, using your non-dominate hand/foot will actually develop your dominate side as well!
Dance and gymnastics help students to learn these skills because they are having FUN and don’t even know they are developing their brains.
The moment students try on their first tutu or step into their first recital costume, they become not just students but performers as well.
We want your experience at our studio to be one of development, learning, and character training.
Character Building from a Young Age
We believe in “Teaching Character Through Dance.” This is more than just teaching children to perform well.
Character built through dance should spill over into everyday life through kindness, patience, initiative, obedience, perseverance, faithfulness, and so much more. We believe in excellence of technique, of course, and use the Royal Academy of Dance and the Imperial Teachers of Dancing syllabus to create an international standard of achievement.
Gymnastics starts at 18 months with Mommy and Me class. Dance classes begin at age 2 1/2.

Indianola (104 1/2 W 1st Ave, Indianola, IA 50125)
Des Moines (Saylorville – 6564 NW 6th Dr, Des Moines, IA 50313). This studio is just a mile south of Ankeny and easily accessed from I-80 off 2nd Avenue.
Ankeny (1615 SW Vintage Pkwy, Ankeny, IA 50023). This location is mainly for advanced dance students.
