Fish Fries in Des Moines :: The Ultimate Guide to Lenten Season

fish fry

My family is not Catholic, but boy, do we love celebrating Lent by hanging out at all the Fish Fries in Des Moines. In fact, sometimes in the middle of the summer my kids will ask me if it’s Fish Fry time yet.

Check our guide to where you can find your favorite fish fry in Des Moines or find a restaurant who is serving up fish on Fridays during Lent. Or if you need 5 reasons fish fries are fabulous, we have them!

  1. Delicious fish. It’s fresh, it’s hot and crispy. And some places it comes with french fries too!
  2. Friday nights should be spent eating out, not cooking. By the time Friday rolls around, we are all just DONE with the week.
  3. It’s seasonal, so it feels extra special!
  4. Most of them are very affordable, so eating out as a family won’t break the bank.
  5. Fish is good for your brain (or so I tell my kids).
