Our 3rd annual Family Fun Day event was a great morning with over 225 attendees!
A big thank you to everyone who joined us for our Family Fun Day on September 29 at Centennial Park in Waukee. It was a chilly fall day, making it a great morning to move around and have fun as a family!
All families need to have some fun, and Des Moines Moms Blog is honored to provide great events for our readers.
Thanks to our generous sponsors, our guests enjoyed activities such as bubble bounce balls, a bounce house, and a photo booth. We enjoyed delicious food from University Ave. and Mills Civic Pkwy Chick-Fil-A, Northern Lights Pizza, Iowa Orchard, Quinn’s Cookies, Miss Nini’s, Rusty Taco, The CoffeeSmith, Kona Ice, and Crystal Clear Bottled Water. Each child received a swag bag at the event entrance that was filled with goodies from vendors and sponsors.

Kids had a chance to touch the City of Waukee’s very own firetruck. The Waukee Fire Department works proactively with residents, schools, and businesses to promote fire safety awareness. Drake University
Event attendees also got to meet and have their picture taken with Spike the Bulldog – Des Moines’ favorite bulldog! Spike the Bulldog is the mascot for Drake University.

Start your morning off with a famous Chik-Fil-A’s famous chicken, seasoned to perfection, hand-breaded, pressure cooked in 100% refined peanut oil and served on a buttermilk biscuit baked fresh at each restaurant.
Quinn’s Cookies provided chocolate chip cookies. They make their cookies like Grandma used to make them. Their cookies are filled with fresh natural ingredients that make their cookies soft, chewy, and made to order.

Miss NiNi developed a passion for baking in her youth. Over the years, that passion has done nothing but intensify, leading to the rebranding of Encore Desserts as Miss NiNi’s Fine Desserts. Miss NiNi’s provided dessert bread samples to attendees.
Rusty Taco provided chips and salsa for attendees. Rusty always said, “Tacos are the most important meal of the day.” Rusty’s travels and love of authentic Mexican cooking inspired the menu. Northern Lights Pizza Company on Westown Parkway provided breakfast pizza for attendees. Northern Lights began in Clive in 1994, since then they have expanded in the metro and over multiple states! This company brings high quality ingredients to some delicious pizza.
The CoffeeSmith provided coffee for attendees.
This independent coffee shop in Waukee was started by a native Iowan couple whose vision is to handcraft espresso, forge people and build community.
