We want to feature them and share ways you and your family can partner with them through volunteering, giving donations, and attending amazing fundraising events. Get Involved with EveryStep

Volunteer
EveryStep’s more than 700 volunteers perform a wide range of tasks and support services to benefit the organization’s patient, clients, programs and mission. Details about volunteering opportunities can be found at on their website.

Through EveryStep Hospice, volunteers can choose a best fit for their skills and preferences. Some hospice volunteers provide companionship to patients, record their life stories, or record patients’ voices as they read favorite books for future generations.

Veteran-to-Veteran volunteers are military veterans who provide companionship and understanding to hospice patients who have served our country. Other hospice volunteers share their skills through music, baking, or office support.

Through EveryStep’s Grief & Loss Services’ Amanda the Panda program, volunteers facilitate support groups, assist at camps, and help with fundraising initiatives. They also help wrap and deliver “Cheer Boxes” to grieving families.

At EveryStep Giving Tree thrift store in Urbandale, volunteers help accept, clean, and prepare donations for the showroom. They assist customers and run the cash register, help pick up donations from homes, and help with store events.

EveryStep’s Senior Companion volunteers provide support and companionship to home-bound seniors.

Volunteers can also help support EveryStep by hosting a shower to help stock baby items in the organization’s Stork’s Nest, help out at EveryStep Foundation’s fundraising events, offer help with grounds-keeping or clean-up projects; offer in-kind expertise, or serve on the organization’s boards, workgroups or committees.

EveryStep’s Art of Compassion fundraising initiative brings to the forefront the empathy and financial support needed for effective community-based care. Every bid on one of our community clubhouses, every sponsorship dollar, and every ticket purchased for our event supports the concept that ‘it takes a village’ to create a community – and it takes a community to ensure EveryStep can continue to help people live their best lives.” — Jamie Nicolino, EveryStep Foundation events coordinator
