Nothing warms the heart of an event planner and DMMB co-founder like seeing a sea of mommas (and babies) learning, connecting, getting pampered, and just enjoying a morning out of the house. Our second ever Bloom event for new and expecting moms went off without a hitch. We are so thankful for all our guests who came that morning; we hope you had a wonderful time.
About the Event:
The moms got a chance to dialogue with a panel of experts and learn about community resources.
Our guests were able to connect with other new moms, eat delicious food, enjoy a little massage, and win awesome giveaways from local and national businesses!!!
Chick-fil-A Paradise Pointe and Chick-fil-A Jordan Creek provided us all with a delicious lunch. We enjoyed dessert provided by Three Chicks Bakery out of Polk City! Such an amazing place to get all your cupcakes, cakes, and cookies for any occasion.

Many of our guests helped us collect item for YoungLives.
YoungLives is a program that welcomes each mom and her child or children with unconditional love and respect. YoungLives offers teen moms relief from the isolation and struggle of their daily lives and hope for the future. We provide one-on-one mentoring, offer monthly Life Skills classes and a yearly camp opportunity for them and their babies, and provide an environment for teen moms to connect with one another. Our hope is to empower each teen mom with the truth that they are unconditionally loved by Jesus and that He has a specific purpose for their lives.
If you are still interested in helping this amazing organization, below are some ideas:
- Diapers (size 1-4)
- Wipes
- Bibles (NLV purse size for moms & “Jesus Story Book” children’s bibles)
- Gift cards for craft stores
- Restaurant gift cards
- Hy-Vee gift cards
- Spray sanitizer
- Any monetary donations will be used to further the ministry as well as to send a teen mom to camp!
- Travel toiletries for both teen mom and baby (deodorant, baby shampoo, toothbrushes/toothpaste, floss, Clearasil, facial soap, etc.)
