Des Moines Moms Blog was honored to hold our Mom’s Night Out event at Bash Events and Catering in February. Located in the heart of downtown, it’s a convenient place to host an anniversary party, holiday party, or corporate event. You can also host a wedding, fundraiser, or private party. It’s the perfect place for any occasion!
History
Bash is located in the Historic Chamberlain Building, built in 1917, in what is now the Western Gateway Park of Downtown Des Moines. It was originally built to house Taylor Automotive. As you’d expect in any building more than a century old, the space has gone through many changes. However, the charm and craftsmanship have remained. It boasts classic brick, gorgeous tin ceiling, original penny tile floor, and breathtaking views of the city.
Catherine Drummond, a mom of two teenage boys from West Des Moines, took over the location in 2016, after moving from her bakery, Della Dolce in West Des Moines. She transformed this elegant, unique space into one that couples, families, and friends have turned to for planning one-of-a-kind events and occasions in the heart of Downtown Des Moines.
Impressive Facility
Bash Events and Catering’s rental is a gem in Des Moines.
Highlights include:
- renowned architectural features
- quaint bar area that allows family and friends to enjoy drinks and quality time
- split-level facility with seating for up to 350 people
Bash works to be as inclusive as possible in its accommodations and provides staff, romantic cafe lighting, and tables and chairs with its rentals. Bash provides in-house catering that clients and guests rave about after hosting their events in the space, and tasting the delicious offerings that the owner and head of catering, Catherine cooks up for each event.
The staff works to make the process of holding an event as streamlined as possible and works to accommodate each guest for every unique event.
