1. Experience RAGBRAI

Des Moines is an overnight stop on the classsic great bike ride across Iowa. On Wednesday, July 26, bikers will ride 50 miles from Ames to Des Moines where they will spend the night. Even if you don’t ride, you won’t want to miss all the festivities happening around Des Moines when a projected 100,000 bikers descend on the city. The festivities commence with a free Lynyrd Skynyrd concert. 

2. Spend a Day at the Iowa State Fair

Whether you go for the food, the people watching, the animals, or the concerts (we can’t wait for New Kids on the Block and the Chicks and . There truly is something for everyone at the Iowa State Fair! 

3. See Dude Perfect

4. Play at Dave and Busters 

The wait is over for the opening of this popular arcade and sports bar. Located at 170 Jordan Creek Town Center, the opening is set for July 31. 

5. Watch the Savannah Bananas at Principal Park 

The Savannah Bananas bring their baseball antics to entertain fans in Des Moines on August 25 and 26. The team creates a circus atmosphere both on the field and in the stands with choreographed routines, entertaining pitches, and more.
